The students will create a visual journal which is more than a sketchbook. It is a place where students will track their creative process. The students will write, draw, collage, sew, glue, paint, think and plan their visual journal.It is the process of making notes and ideas visual. The students will be in their ideation phase where the design, personalized notes, and the concepts will show the process of how they arrive at their final work of art. Being able to explain the process through visual means is vital to literacy and the bases of the projects assigned.

The assignments will also connect to historical designers and the art which will enhance their understanding towards apply concepts from the history of design to practical, real-life creative elements which are in the process of being designed. The assignments will include corporate identity, brochure or book cover and its spreads, social message poster and personalized ligatures and typography contents..
