PROJECT

The Shoe Trick Nudge, New York, USA

BRIEF

A nudge to differentiate left and right with children of 4-7 years.

PROCESS

“L” for Lime and Left “R” for Red and Right For a little more fun, I painted the nails on A’s right foot and hand red and her left foot and hand lime green. I then put a red circle in her right shoe and a lime green circle in her left shoe.   She instantly made the connections, “R” for right and red, “L” for lime and left.

SOLUTION

  • The sticky stickers added more visual language to cognitive learning by comparing the child’s thumb and the sticker in the shoes.
  • These were the great success and an entertainment for children. The dialogues of which sticker goes where and how the hand and the thumb sticker should match. Learning already began. The only wear and tare of the sticker was observed to make it more durable with daily shoes or sneakers.
